I was trying to write a punchline for a premise I thought up, but then I realized the idea for the punch was more fitting of a different premise I had thought up earlier, but then I couldn't get that to work either so I just wrote a whole new comic. Does every cartoonist do this?
I get that feeling a lot. People are hard to manage. You don’t know how you feel about people, or whether or not you want to hang out with them, or what. I find it’s best to just commit yourself to a stance and stand by it, like the Republican administration.
See. I’m retarded, I just read that and thought of the punchline in a dull manner. Like “oh. That’s funny because it’s a form of irony.” hahaha.
I didn’t equate it to people at all. Because people are crap.
I thought it was funny because of the self-defeatingly awkward way that Toast goes about making its point, and the overly forced metaphor. But what would I know?
